I have to admit – I never thought of myself as a blogger, so when the idea popped into my head to thrown my hat into the ring with Lori and Pastor Carol I was a little surprised. But I thought, why not? I love to write, have no shortage of opinions, and am very passionate about sharing my experience of growing in Christ. So, that will be the focus of my blog, “A New Creation.” At this point in time, my thinking is to have a monthly submission, but that can and will probably change as time and circumstances change.
Paul wrote in his second letter to the Corinthians, Chapter 5, Verse 17, “So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!” This happens for me every single day. I start each day on my knees in prayer and thanksgiving to God, humbling myself before Him and asking His guidance in my life. I start by thanking Him for the day and the opportunity to be of service to Him and His good purpose. I then give thanks for all of the blessings He has bestowed upon me, including continuing to care for and watch over my family and friends. I then ask that He guide and direct me on the path that He would have me go, for that day, and that He help me to be the person that He would have me be, just for that day. I ask for blessings for those He puts on my heart in the moment, joys and concerns, then finish with the request that God help me to know what His will is for my life for that day and that He grant me the power, courage and strength to carry it out, for that day. In this way, I am humbling myself before God, thanking Him for ALL he does, much of which I don’t deserve but that He provides through His Mercy and Grace, then simply ask that He guide and direct my steps on the path He has chosen for me, all for only that one day. By doing this each and every day, before I start the day, I am giving my life and my will over the care of God and am allowing Him to work in and through me. So, each day I am a new creation, working, living and playing for God’s purpose in my life. I can only tell you that it has changed my life, truly transformed it into a life I could have only dreamt of having. I am truly blessed and grateful!! I am a new creation!!
